A BILL to amend article six, chapter thirty-three of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
thirty-seven, relating to requiring automobile liability
insurance companies to provide a fifteen percent discount to
their insureds who have not filed a claim for five years or
longer.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article six, chapter thirty-three of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
thirty-seven to read as follows:
ARTICLE 6. THE INSURANCE POLICY.
§33-6-37. Safe driver discount.
Every insurer that offers in this state policies or
contracts of bodily injury liability insurance, or of property
damage liability insurance, covering liability arising from the
ownership, maintenance or use of any motor vehicle, shall provide
a fifteen percent discount on premiums therefor to their insureds
who have not filed a claim for five years or longer.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require automobile
liability insurance companies to provide a fifteen percent
discount to their insureds who have not filed a claim for five
years or longer.
